Russell Joseph Howard (born March 23, 1980 in Bristol) is an English comedian famed for his improvisational skills, which have led him to win several awards, notably making "Zoo" magazine's top 10 list of "Britain's Funniest Comics 2005" at number 2 and winning "Best Compère" at the 2006 Chortle Awards. He was also nominated for an if.comeddie award in 2006 for his Edinburgh show, "Wandering" [ [http://www.chortle.co.uk/features_static/awards/perrier.php Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide] chortle.co.uk] . On BBC Radio 4, he has appeared on the shows "Banter", hosted by Andrew Collins, and "Political Animal", on which he ended his routine by giving John Oliver a piggy-back ride which resulted in one "hurty-elbow", although this did not make it to the broadcast.
