Phu Yen (in Vietnamese "Phú Yên"; audio|Phu Yen.ogg|pronunciation; Hán Tự: ) is a sea-province in the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is located the eastern-most part of Vietnam's mainland.

Geographically, Phu Yen boders Binh Dinh Province to the north, Khanh Hoa to the south and Eas Sea in the east. Phu Yen are separated from these provinces by two imposing passes: Cù Mông pass in the north and Cả pass in the south.

The province's topography consists of fairly-low hilly regions in the west( making up 70%),the fertile plain of Tuy Hoa in the EastThe main rivers that flow across Phu yen are Da Rang river(largest river in Central Vietnam), Ban Thach river and Ky Lo river.

Phu Yen has enormous advantages and potentials for economic developments such as its strategic position in Eastern Vietnam, proximity to nternational marine waterways and its diversifying resources such as silicate materials, diatomite, mineral water and ferrite ores.

Phu Yen has various picturesque landscapes, such as the Ô Loan Lagoon, Sông Cầu coconut ranges, Đá Bia and Nhạn mountains, Rô Bay and Long Thủy beach.

Economy

Currently, Phu Yen maintains a lack luster economy. Main economic activities include rice growing, breeding, fishing and agro-processing industry.

However, the province shows signs of development with its sea, plain and hills which could help its economy. It owns the Dong Tac airport near Tuy Hoa City, Vung Ro seaport in the South, and the National Highway and Railway that runs through the province. In the near future, Phu Yen may become a economic hub in Central Vietnam, where investors can establish plans and factories and export quickly through the Vung Ro or Van Phong Port.

The province is zoning and developing a large economic zone, namely the Nam Phú Yên Economic Zone. Upon completion, it will become a oil-refining hub in Vietnam and potentially provide high profits for the province.

Administration

Phú Yên is divided into 1 city and 8 districts:
#Tuy Hòa City (municipality)
#Đồng Xuân
#Sông Cầu
#Tuy An
#Sơn Hòa
#Phú Hòa
#Tây Hòa
